Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 30, 2026
This policy explains how ShotLab handles information when players and coaches use the ShotLab mobile application and related services.
Information we collect
Without an account, workouts, goals, language, appearance, and reminder preferences remain on the device. When a user signs in, ShotLab receives basic identity information from Apple or Google, such as name, email address, profile image, and account identifier. ShotLab may also store workouts, notes, role, team membership, language, goals, assigned workouts, deadlines, completion status, notification device tokens, linked team calendar configuration, and basic app usage events. Usage events include app sessions, screens viewed, successful feature actions, coded operational failures, app version, and platform. They do not include error messages, stack traces, workout values, notes, player names, calendar content or addresses, or game details.
Google user data
ShotLab requests only basic Google identity information needed to create and authenticate an account: the user’s identity, email address, and public profile information. A coach may separately provide a private Google Calendar iCal address for a team calendar. ShotLab uses that address only to retrieve and display calendar events to current coaches and players on that team. ShotLab does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not transfer it to third parties except service providers needed to operate the app.
How information is used
Information is used to provide and improve workout journaling, analytics, goals, reminders, cloud synchronization, team collaboration, assigned workouts, customer support, security, and account administration, including measuring active users and feature usage.
Coach sharing
When a player joins a team, that team’s coach can view and correct the player’s workouts, shooting results, locations, dates, and workout notes. Coach corrections are recorded. Current team members can also view events from a team calendar linked by a coach. Leaving or being removed from the team ends access through ShotLab.
Service providers and disclosure
ShotLab uses service providers including Supabase for authentication and cloud data, Expo for application and notification infrastructure, Apple for Apple authentication and distribution, Google for Google authentication and Android services, and the respective app stores for distribution. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users and the service, or in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
Storage and security
Local information is stored in the application’s private database. Signed-in data is transmitted securely and stored with access controls. Authentication credentials are stored using secure device storage where supported. No system can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable safeguards are used to protect information.
Retention and deletion
Information is retained while needed to provide ShotLab and meet legitimate legal or security obligations. Users can delete individual workouts, leave a team, sign out, or permanently delete their cloud account and associated data from Settings in the app. See Delete your ShotLab account for in-app steps and an external deletion request option.
Children
Basketball teams may include younger players. A parent, guardian, school, club, or coach should provide any consent required by applicable law before a child uses an online account or shares data with a coach. ShotLab should not be used to submit information about a child without the appropriate authorization.
International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country. Appropriate safeguards are used as required by applicable law.
Your choices and rights
Signing in, joining a team, and enabling notifications are optional. Depending on location, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information. Contact ShotLab to exercise an applicable right.
Changes
This policy may be updated as ShotLab changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are published.
